Green ECA Financing: Catalysing the Transition to a Sustainable Economy

We explore the role of ECAs in spurring the transition to a sustainable economy, highlighting the significant increase in global renewable energy commitments, with 42% for guarantees and 57% for direct lending in 2023. Despite traditional carbon intensive industries still attracting larger financing volumes, the gap is narrowing, especially among E3F members. We address the need for greater flexibility in ECA frameworks, enhanced risk-taking for emerging technologies, and increased support for green projects in developing markets to achieve net-zero emissions by 2050.

Risk Roulette

Risk Roulette is our new networking session designed to foster dialogue on risk management topics. Delegates will sit at tables of 8-12, featuring diverse participants, including debt and equity investors, project developers, lawyers, and consultants. Each table will have a moderator who introduces unique risk topics, such as Market, Currency, and Construction Risk. Moderators will rotate every 15 minutes, guiding discussions on three different risks within a dynamic 45-minute format, ensuring an engaging experience for all attendees.
